Our Origin Story
Every good idea starts somewhere.
Ours started in a shed.
In Magherafelt back in 2006, our founder Cormac Diamond — an engineer who had spent years working in manufacturing and loved asking “how could this work better?” — had his curiosity sparked by a simple enquiry about window blinds.
With a small team, a father-in-law’s shed, and a lot of determination, his first blinds were built from scratch. What began as an experiment quickly became a mission: design smarter blinds that actually improves how people live and sleep.
That same mindset led to the innovation of BlocOut - in a unique patented blind system designed to properly block light and help people get better sleep.
Today all of our premium blackout blinds are manufactured to the highest standards by hand right here in our production facility in Magherafelt.
