BlocOut Smart

The BlocOut Smart gives you proper blackout thanks to light-blocking side rails, a rubber seal and premium blackout fabrics, making it an ideal sleep aid for a comfortable night’s sleep.

With the Smart Hub, your blinds can now be opened and closed using a smartphone app or voice commands through smart home assistants like Alexa or Google Home.

The smart app allows you to schedule wake-up routines or simulate activity in your house for extra home security. The app also offers additional control over how precisely you set the blind level, so you determine exactly how much light you let in. 

For an extra finishing touch, the BlocOut Smart includes the option to add a fabric pelmet onto the cassette, for enhanced aesthetics.

The BlocOut Smart includes Fabric Changer technology, as standard. This allows you to easily change your fabric from as little as £10. No measuring or tools required. Whether it’s an interior refresh, seasonal change or you simply fancy a new print, we have you covered.

Recess and Surface Fitting Positions

The BlocOut Smart offers 2 fitting positions – Recess and Surface.

The Recess Fitting Position is designed to fit within the window opening itself. With a minimum depth of 50mm from the handle, you can position the 3-sided frame anywhere within your recess.

The Surface Fitting Position mounts the side-rails and cassette on the outside of the window recess, directly on the wall. This Fitting Position is perfect for Tilt and Turn windows or for those who prefer to have ornaments on their windowsill.

How to Operate the BlocOut Smart Blind

The BlocOut Smart can be operated by remote, app or voice via the Smart Hub. Use the app to schedule wake-up routines.

It is recommended that BlocOut blinds are retracted when windows are open.

The BlocOut Smart offers as standard a child-safe motorised option, which enables you to operate the blind via remote, app or voice via the Smart Hub.

Charging a motorised blind

Powered by a built-in rechargeable motor, the BlocOut Plus and BlocOut Smart require no additional wiring when being installed. The blind is designed to have enough charge to last 8 months, before a simple overnight (6-hour) charge is required.

Frequently asked questions

If I measure my blind wrong, can I return it?

If you add Measure Protect insurance in your shopping cart, and it turns out that your blinds are the wrong size, then we will replace your blinds for free. Terms and conditions apply. Otherwise, as BlocOut blinds are made to measure, we are unable to accept returns.

If you have any concerns on measuring, we advise purchasing Measure Protect insurance. The vast majority of blinds made based on measurements taken by our customers, fit perfectly.

Will a BlocOut blind work with my window?

The BlocOut has been made to fit a variety of windows, but it is unsuitable for the following types:

  • Windows with angled recesses
  • Bay windows
  • Velux / skylight windows

For inward opening windows, we suggest the Surface Fitting Position available for the BlocOut Plus and BlocOut Smart blinds. The Recess Fitting Position or Edge Fitting Position is unlikely to work.

What is the Fabric changer?

The BlocOut Plus and BlocOut Smart includes the Fabric Changer as standard.  This system enables you to change your blind fabric in minutes without the need to re-measure. Simply unroll your fabric to find the unique ID, pick your favourite new fabric and email our customer service team hello@blocout.com to order. When your new fabric arrives, simply swap out the old one.

Do you offer finance/pay later options?

Yes, we offer two ‘pay later’ options. Klarna offers the ability to spread the cost into 3 interest-free instalments or pay in up to 30 days. DivideBuy offers the ability to spread the cost into monthly interest-free instalments between 6 to 12 months.

Do you offer a Measure and Fit service?

The BlocOut has been designed so that it is easy to measure and fit. We offer a Measuring Guide and Fitting Guide with step-by-step instructions for you to follow.

How do you charge the motorised blind?

The BlocOut Plus and BlocOut Smart are powered by a built-in rechargeable motor.

Simply connect the available Motor Charger to charge your blind. It is designed to have enough charge to last 8 months, before a simple overnight (6-hour) charge is required.

The BlocOut Touch does not a motorised option available.
